Elected PGRSA Officers

Dr. Brian Whipker was elected 2nd Vice President. He is joined on the 2007-2008 Steering Committee by Dr. Peter Petracek, First Year Member-at-Large. Brian and Peter assumed their responsibilities following the annual meeting in July, 2007.

Appointed PGRSA Officers

Dr. Wayne A. Mackay and Dr. Sonja L. Maki are currenty serving as Executive Officer and Business Manager, respectively. Mr. Charles Hall of Associated Services Group continues to serve as Executive Secretary of the PGRSA. He has served in that position since 1998. Associated Services Group handles daily financial activities, maintains a current membership and mailing list, archives society publications, and distributes all society mailings. Nominations for the Steering Committee

The Nominations Committee will be seeking nominees for three elected positions on the 2008-2009 Plant Growth Regulation Society of America Steering Committee. The positions are 2 nd Vice President, Secretary and First Year Member-at-Large. If you are interested in being nominated, contact Mr. James Hansen. The election for these positions will be held in the spring of 2007.

PGRSA Conferences

Dr. Matthew Fidelibus, 1st Vice President, will be the PGRSA program coordinator for the 2008 annual meeting to be held in San Francisco, California August 3-7. Mark your calendars for this special 35th annual meeting. Information about the 2008 meeting will be mailed to members and posted on the web site.

Publications

The on-line proceedings for the 2006 meeting will be freely available on the PGRSA website beginning January 1, 2008. CDs of the 2006 Proceedings were mailed to full registrants and invited speakers of the 2006 meeting. If you require a copy of the 2006 proceedings before January 1, 2008, copies may be purchased by filling out a publication order form.

Membership

Beginning in 2005, registrants attending stand alone annual meetings were automatically made members for the following year. Registration fees were increased to accommodate the change. This policy will continue for the 2008 meeting in San Francisco.
