Dr. Peter Petracek was elected 2nd Vice President. He is joined on the 2009-2010 Steering Committee by Mr. John Harden, First Year Member-at-Large. Peter and John assumed their responsibilities following the annual meeting in August, 2009. Mr. Dave Barcel was appointed Third Year Member-at-Large. Appointed PGRSA Officers Dr. Wayne A. Mackay and Dr. Sonja L. Maki are currently serving as Executive Officer and Business Manager, respectively. Mr. Charles Hall of Associated Services Group continues to serve as Executive Secretary of the PGRSA. He has served in that position since 1998. Associated Services Group handles daily financial activities, maintains a current membership and mailing list, archives society publications, and distributes all society mailings. Nominations for the Steering Committee The Nominations Committee will be seeking nominees for three elected positions on the 2010-2011 Plant Growth Regulation Society of America Steering Committee. The positions are 2nd Vice President, Secretary and First Year Member-at-Large. If you are interested in being nominated, contact Sally Mayeaux. The election for these positions will be held in the spring of 2010. PGRSA Conferences Dr. Steve McArtney, 1st Vice President, will be the PGRSA program coordinator for the 2010 annual meeting to be held in Portland, Oregon August 8-12, 2010. Mark your calendars for this special 37th annual meeting. Information about the 2010 meeting will be mailed to members and posted on the web site. Publications The PGRSA Quarterly has been revised to a newsletter format in order to better serve the membership. Also, a newly revised 4th Edition of the Plant Growth Regulator Handbook is now available on a searchable CD. Printed copies are also available. Publications may be purchased by filling out a publication order form. Membership Beginning in 2005, registrants attending stand alone annual meetings were automatically made members of PGRSA. Registration fees were increased to accommodate the change. This policy will continue for the 2010 meeting in Portland, Oregon.
